Sophie Mcgrath

Sport therapy student

I'm a final year sports therapy student at the University of Essex, currently completing my external placement at Vigour Plus Clinic. I have a strong passion for health, fitness, and sport, which has been a driving force throughout my studies and personal life. My degree has provided me with a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with practical experience in assessing injuries and applying soft tissue techniques.

Outside of my academic work, l'm a keen netball player and regularly train and compete, which has given me an understanding of the physical demands of sport and the importance of injury prevention and recovery. I have always enjoyed being part of a team environment where communication, resilience, and performance matter. I also spend a lot of time in the gym, focusing on strength training and fitness - something that not only supports my own athletic performance, but also deepens my understanding of movement, and how exercise can be used as an essential component of rehabilitation.

I'm excited to be part of the Vigour Plus team, where I can apply my knowledge and continue to develop my clinical skills in a professional setting. I am looking forward to learning from experienced practitioners and contributing to supporting clients in achieving their goals - whether that's returning to sport, recovering from injury, or maintaining an active, pain-free lifestyle.
